Cisco and Sohar University are pleased to invite you to the opening session of our training program which is designed to promote the vital role that Information and Communications Technologies play in driving societies towards technological innovation, one of the key vehicles to economic growth and prosperity.
This session is scheduled to commence on December 12, 2009 at Sohar University. The expected participants include but are not limited to the university faculty, local businesses and Cisco's education organizations. The intent of the program is to promote discussions around how ICT training will facilitate the transformation of Oman's society by developing and empowering Omani youth, the main source for local IT talent.
The panelists for this event will be given the opportunity to speak to how their organization is addressing the growing demand of skilled ICT professionals, in congruence with the theme of our program “Developing Local Talent in Technology”.
We believe that the insight you will gain from this event is well aligned with the greater goal of transforming Oman into a sustainable knowledge based society. At the end of the program, we envisage that you will begin to see the Network as the Platform for life’s experiences - an enabler of ubiquitous communication and collaboration services permeating your daily lives.
We hope that you walk away with a new found appreciation for ICT and begin to understand how Cisco can help you in enhancing the way you Work, Live, Play and Learn in Digital Oman.
We look forward to having you participate at the event!

During the week of December 12 through 17, we offer several workshops specifically designed for IT professionals in the area of IP Next-Generation (IP NGN) and Connected Manufacturing.

The IP NGN architecture workshop demonstrates how the attendees can take advantage of Carrier Ethernet to converge networks and services. IP NGN continues to gain traction as Ethernet evolves from a purely Enterprise-focused technology to one of the dominant media upon which service providers are basing their next generation network build-outs.

The Connected Manufacturing workshop offers a new vision on how technology can be used in next generation manufacturing facilities. The session details a portfolio of technology solutions that can used to gain complete data visibility and flexibility throughout the manufacturing value chain, from product development through sales and service management.

Interested participants in the workshops should send RSVP to:
