Sohar University Sponsors the Educational Competitions in North Al Batinah

Sohar University sponsored the competitions of educational activities in North Al Batinah for the current academic year 2017/2018. The University provided the required support for the success of these student competitions in various fields.
On May 8, The Directorate-General of Education in North Al Batinah celebrated the closing of the educational activities competitions under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Sulaiman bin Salem Al-Mahrouqi, Wali Al-Khaboura, with the presence of the Director General of Education in the Governorate, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Maqbali, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Community and Engagement at Sohar University and a number of invited guests. The celebration was held in Sultan Qaboos Mosque Hall in Sohar.
On behalf of the University, Dr. Al-Maqbali delivered a speech in which he congratulated the winner students and schools and stressed the importance of non-classroom activities and the role of these activities in building students’ personalities and enhancing their talents and abilities. He also referred to the role of the university in providing community services and facilities for schools and students.
More than 300 students have been honored in this year’s competitions, competing in more than 17 different competitions: literary, cultural, scientific and artistic.
It is worth mentioning that the university pays great attention to the local community and considers community service as one of the main objectives of its current strategic plan.
